This is a powerful trick - adding interactive video to an email campaign. You can automatically pass in user or lead data from your email system and track how specific known viewers are watching your video.

Here's how the process works with Mailchimp. You can follow the same process with your email marketing platform (HubSpot, Constant Contact, etc...).

1. In your HapYak project add quiz questions to generate lead intelligence.

We recommend 1 or 2 lightweight quiz annotations asking people for information you would find valuable for your sales and marketing efforts. You'll be surprised at how many viewers answer these questions.

2. For any URL that links from the email to the interactive video, add variables that reference Mailchimp merge tags.

ex: http://corp.hapyak.com/blog/interactive-video/let-your-role-define-your-goal/?hapyak_userId=*|EMAIL|*&hapyak_first=*|FNAME|*

The most important variable to add is hapyak_userId as that will identify every individual who watches the video.
You can pass in any other variables. Each of the variables will automatically be populated from your email list via the merge tags.

Other creative uses include automatically passing in the first name or company of the recipient and showing an annotation that personalizes the experience for the viewer.

3. Review lead intelligence data in HapYak analytics.

Go to http://www.hapyak.com/portal/reports.
Gradebook will show you how individuals answered questions.
Questions will show you a summary of how all viewers answered questions.
